* My good fellow citizens
We are similar
* Everyone has a handful
We are paper and iron
* We think it is the most beautiful
We are a people on earth
* But this is our habit
That we don’t see each other
always …
* My good fellow citizens
It can be said that we are cannibals
* Always in any situation
We are upset about everything
* We feel from the ivory tower
Or we fell from the sky
*All in the end somehow
We are addicted to something
always …
* My good fellow citizens
We are very bad
*You can breathe here
It’s like being under water
* The sound of the sky here
A cry of mourning
* On earth for all this
There is little room for desire
* But they say that tomorrow is here
Full of celebration and light
But tonight is long
Tomorrow is very early
* My fellow citizens of Gol
This sea of loneliness
* until the last drops
For you and me
* Our stories are similar
In the end, somehow
* If our eyes are angry
Our hands, if period

Album Review

About six or seven years ago, I first heard this song performed by my dear and beloved friend, Mehrdad Alizadeh, in a small gathering.
I instantly fell in love with it…
I followed up and found out that the poem and melody were by Arash Rostegar — an exceptional artist and a wonderful friend.
It was in Ordibehesht 1394 (May 2015) when, with a simple handwritten note, I got Arash’s promise to let me be the only one to sing this poem and melody.
The original lyrics weren’t like this; we changed them, refined them, and Arash patiently devoted time, taste, and care to shaping them.
Fereydoun Bahrami — brilliant and supportive — accepted to work with me despite all my excessive perfectionism, and with incredible perseverance, remarkable talent, and deep empathy, created the most beautiful arrangement for this song. He has put so much effort into this project up to the very day it was released.
My dear friends who played on this track, whose musical touch and artistry are woven into the fabric of the song.
Kaveh Abedin, who handled the recording with great finesse, and the true supporter who bore with me patiently and lovingly, and with precision, ensured the song sounded just right.
My dear friend Amin Manian, who with his unique painting style, created a beautiful cover for this song.
And all the kind companions who helped with licensing and publishing, making it possible for this song to reach your ears and eyes in this form.
I am deeply grateful to all of you. ❤️
